Roots of Education: A Scholarly Upbringing

Rajesh George Kulangara

Founder & Chief Architect – NaMo AI Mission

Rajesh George Kulangara, the Founder and the intellectual force behind the NaMo AI Mission, was born into a family deeply rooted in education. Growing up in an environment where teaching, learning, and intellectual enquiry were part of everyday life, he developed an early and enduring connection with education. Immersed from childhood in a culture that valued knowledge, discipline, and inquiry, education naturally became the foundation of his thinking and purpose.

From his school and college years onward, he was actively involved in educational initiatives, gaining early exposure to curriculum development, pedagogy, publishing, and institutional functioning. These formative experiences laid the groundwork for his long-term engagement with education as both a discipline and a mission.

Academic Pursuits: A Global Perspective

After completing his graduation, Mr. Rajesh George pursued a Master’s degree in Business Administration. This academic journey provided him with a global perspective on education systems and institutional models, enabling him to closely observe the disparities between India and more advanced education ecosystems—particularly in the integration of modern technology into learning. Motivated to understand education at a deeper, pedagogical level, he later completed a Graduate Program in Teacher Education. This allowed him to critically compare international educational frameworks with those prevalent in India, shaping his conviction that education reform must be rooted in both academic rigour and contextual relevance.

Institutional Leadership and Educational Contribution

Rajesh George took on key leadership and operational roles within educational institutions and publishing initiatives. He was closely involved in academic content development, research-driven publications, and large-scale educational outreach programs that reached millions of learners across K–12 segments.

In addition to his work in publishing, he played a significant role in the establishment, management, and academic direction of multiple educational institutions, including public schools, residential learning centres, junior colleges, teacher training colleges, and higher education institutions. Through these roles, he contributed meaningfully to strengthening educational access, teacher capability, and curriculum relevance at multiple levels.

Global Education Exploration: Learning Without Borders

Rajesh George akulangaraundertook extensive global research and field studies, travelling to more than 60 countries, including the United States, Japan, South Korea, Germany, several European nations, and China. During these visits, he engaged with leading universities, K–12 schools, and education thought leaders, participating in discussions on innovation, pedagogy, and the future of learning.

These global insights inspired him to initiate and lead several experimental learning models within his institutions. These initiatives explored experiential education, interdisciplinary learning, civic awareness, technology integration, and student well-being—challenging conventional classroom boundaries and reimagining how learning could be delivered.

Embracing Technology: The Path to NaMo AI Mission

Recognising early the transformative influence of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Automation, Data Science, Internet of Things (IoT), Drones, Space Technologies, and AR/VR,  Rajesh George strongly believed that children must be introduced to these domains with understanding and ethical awareness from a young age.

To advance this vision, he established a dedicated Research and Development Division focused on experimenting with emerging technologies in education. This initiative brought together scientists, technologists, and education experts from India and abroad to collaborate on projects that explored human-centred, responsible, and meaningful uses of advanced technology.

This convergence of educational philosophy, global exposure, institutional leadership, and technological foresight ultimately led to the conceptualisation of the NaMo AI Mission—a national initiative committed to building technology literacy grounded in cognition, ethics, and human agency, aligned with India’s vision for Viksit Bharat 2047.
